I watched 3 episodes from season one this morning at work (overtime pay and watching videos, I work hard) and really enjoyed the show. I will be watching the rest in the future and I will have to see if the Madison area PBS will be carrying season two.

I loved the episode with the guy from Korin Japanese Imports, I have spent most of the morning drooling over knives that I just don't need and can't afford.

"Diary of a Foodie" just made it an official streak with another James Beard award this year. Congrats to Louisa and the rest of the Gourmet team!

Great news! This show has always sounded very interesting, but I've only watched a little on my computer - I prefer to watch on my TV.

I have Comcast in the Chicagoland area and I did a search for the heck of it to find this show.

BINGO! It's run on a PBS affiliate on channel 242. I set it to automatically record on my DVR so I'm good to go.

Excellent show, fantastic news. Congrats, Louisa!

I think they're only running repeats of last season (good if you haven't seen them), but I have yet to see a new episode from the second season.

Just got word from WTTW that Season 2 of Diary of a Foodie will start airing in Chicago on channel 11 on September 21, 2008 - Sundays at 5:30 p.m.! Finally my mom will see that I wasn't just making it all up.

That's great news. I can't wait to see it. Do you know if they are running it on the digital channel in HD?

It's been on the air, off and on, on WYCC for a while, but it's great to see it getting a higher profile on WTTW. It's one of the best PBS food shows, IMHO.

If I'm not mistaken, WYCC was only airing season 1 (as was WTTW's standard definition "Create" channel).

Huh - you're right - channel 20/WYCC is running Season 2! They just started this past Sunday - Sundays at 5 p.m.!

Last night I saw what may be the first episode (first I've seen of it, anyway) of Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie on the Create public television station. What I liked was that it told it's story documentary style, with little interference from a celebrety. Last night's show was on Cows, and it had short segments on an "heirloom" type of cow in Tuscany that is raised by Italian cowboys; a piece on a Morrocan family that made butter by shaking the milk from their cow in a goat skin, and a piece on a butcher shop in Kingston New York run by ex-chefs that sells only grass fed beef. It finished with a short segment by a Gourmet editor with a simple recipe for steak. I think quite a few LTHers would enjoy it.

Not only do other LTHers enjoy it, LTHer Louisa Chu is an occasional host. I believe I've seen Gleam on the show, too.

Not entirely new. In it's 2nd (excellent) season.

Glad to see others have enjoyed it. I suspect that if the first season was on in my area (north suburbs), it was in a more obscure time slot where I never saw a listing for it. Last night it was on in prime time (7-7:30), so maybe it's getting a better time slot this year.

My wife and I really like this show. We are fortunate to have been able to see all of the episodes for both seasons so far. We pre-record them through our cable service's dvr feature, so we don't have to worry about when they air. Each episode leaves me with the impression, "How can I become part of that world?!"

In a show of lousy judgment, WTTW didn't carry the first season; it was only available on WYCC.
