Entree-sized appetizer, fragrant, well spiced and addictive

    Chinese-style Jampong (Korean seafood noodle)
Toppings were great, but the noodles were likely dried machine-made (We've been spoiled by Katy's).

    Szechuan Beef Noodle
Tender beef and the greens submerged in the noodle were bean leaf (peapod leaves, dou miao) - the chili oil's deadly if you're wearing white... or anything aside from a lobster bib I suppose. Again, the store-bought dried noodles are a disappointment and somewhat ruin what would otherwise be an excellent bowl of noodles.

Clientele was 3/4 Mandarin-speaking Chinese. We're glad to have authentic Szechuan fare for whenever we visit the Premium Outlets in Aurora.

I'll need to check that out one of these days.

Have you also Tried Lao Szechuan in Downers Grove?

Or Fabulous Noodles in Lisle and Mapo in Naperville.

I have a post on Mapo here:

I even posted a copy of their Chinese-language "menu," but unfortunately could not assist in translating.

Incidentally, visited the Naperville H-mart this past weekend, but chose to dine at Cho Dang Tofu House instead of Mapo.

Any idea if this is related to Yu's Mandarin in Schaumburg? Seems possible since they both seem to have Chinese/Korean dishes.

Interesting question - On my inaugural visit, I actually asked if they were related to any other restaurants in the area, w/ the thought that I'd seen my same waiter at Mapo, but they immediately assumed I meant Yu's Mandarin. The answer to that question, "No relation to anybody."

    Jay K, I'll give the translation a go... :)

I was at Cho Dang Tofu House too this past Saturday! According to Mike's parents, Yu's Bistro was really good before, but the owners changed and the chef left. They went after the change, and have not been back. Same goes for Landee
