LTHForum on annual search for great neighborhood eats

Posted by Phil Vettel at 4:30 p.m. CDT

LTHForum, the Chicago-based culinary chat site, is once again looking for great neighborhood restaurants. Nominate that great hole-in-the-wall spot and give it some well-deserved attention. The temptation is to keep it to yourself, but consider: Recognition as a Great Neighborhood Restaurant might make your local favorite more crowded and harder to get into, but it might also ensure its continued survival in this cutthroat restaurant economy. Contribute your nominations to lthforum.com by Sept. 30 then join in the discussion of all nominees through Oct. 15. And check out the list of 90 previous honorees; no point in nominating a place that’s already won.

Thanks for the link, REB. The GNR Vote press team has been working around the clock and deserves our thanks. I must say, that's a particularly friendly writeup from PV.

I think the PR's great; I only hope that any newbies who join just to nominate their favorite places take the time to really see what it takes to become a GNR. Do we really need any more Deluxe Diner nominations?

I, for one, am happy to welcome any new members. The more exposure the GNRs get (both the restaurants and the awards themselves) the better.

New members are very welcome one and all. I mean, it not like they are going to do something utterly ridiculous and nominate Cajun Charlies. Right? ;)
