Green Egg purchase

About to buy a Green Egg for my father's birthday (the sibling and I that it) and wanted to see if you all had any suggestions or tips on buying one. Looking to get a Large as he is an extremely avid weber enthusiast as of right now.

Do we need to get any accessories up front?

I have one and I would definitely get a plate setter and an ash tool to get the ashes out of the bottom. Anything else you can hold off for. Also, remember to get wood charcoal instead of the briquettes.
