Not by the people wearing windbreakers, or the colorful leaves in the trees, or the night coming way too early in the day...

    NOPE!!!

Because 2 of the specials at Patty's Diner in Skokie this week were Monday's Meatloaf and Tuesday's Turkey.... Ahhh here comes the good food again...

Haha. I personally enjoy the farms carrying apple cider and pumpkins. It's my favorite time of year!

My personal "it's fall" benchmark is the return of Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks. The only time I ever venture into a $tarbucks is for PSLs and for those Egg Nog Lattes - which I don't even like any more, but they have a certain specific gravity that sucks me in annually.

I'm one for the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard at DQ. A little piece of heaven.

The impenetrable fortresses of pumpkin ales stacked in the beer aisles at Sam's and Binny's. I usually allow myself a six-pack a year, which usually lasts until the next fall's batch arrives.

My fall favorites are pumpkin ice cream and anything braised with root vegetables.

Cinnamon ice cream and Rum Raisin going back on the menu at my local ice cream shop.
One Mint Julep was the cause of it all.
