Oh, and the dinner is tonight. And, it should be easily reachable by public transportation. ;)

That, of course, is my ideal. However, I'm willing to go with any place that serves decent Japanese food and won't recoil in horror at a boisterous 10 month old. A good friend of ours is moving, and has requested that his farewell dinner be at Naniwa which, IMO, isn't a good place to bring a small child + 9 other people.

Any recommendations? I think he might be willing to bend a little on the Japanese requirement, maybe so far as to go Korean?

    Thanks, all -

    Anne

(oh, and cheaper is better, too!)

I'm too late to answer this but I've brought my kids to Tampopo and Do Won without incident, and somewhat more nervously, even to Katsu.

I agree with the Tampopo suggestion. Not only is the waitress, Sunny, always friendly with the kids in the place, but one of the women who works there (or perhaps an owner) has her young daughter in tow many nights. Based on the number of young families I see there, other people get this vibe as well.

    Food's great too.

    Regards,
