    Seamless Web, the website thorough which you can order delivery to your office or home, was an absolute life-saver when I lived in New York. I know they now operate in Chicago as well, but I'd like to know if they are any good here or if anyone has used them and liked/disliked them. I did a search on the forum here and there is no mention of Seamless Web. I'd like to know why.

    I've never heard of it, perhaps because there are other services here. Frankly, I don't understand the benefit to having someone else call in an order for you, especially since Seamless is probably calling it in from out of town. What happens if there's a screwup?

    According to the site, they don't currently service any restaurants on Chicago's northern border.

    You don't call it in. They post the restaurant's menu online and you order online. If there's a screw up, you fix it with the restaurant. The benefit is that you can set up an account with Seamless and it makes the whole process faster and more secure, I presume, than giving your CC number out to various restaurants.

    I should clarify: it would appear with the other services I'd used, that what they're doing is taking your information off a webform and then calling it in, credit card number included - see the link. Are you sure Seamless Web is running your card and then paying the restaurant, and not just relaying all your information to them by phone?

    I always thought they keep your CC info and reimburse the restaurants. This article http://www.downtownexpress.com/de_182/o ... keout.html may or may not confirm it, but it does confirm that they email or fax your order to the restaurant instead of calling it in. That greatly reduces the possibility of error. They also seem to be overseeing that your order gets filled as soon as possible. I've had pretty good experiences with them in the past. In fact, one Chinese restaurant that I used to order from in midtown NYC (2 blocks from the office) would deliver within 7 minutes of the order being placed online.

    In case you're wondering, I am not at all affiliated with Seamless Web. I've just had very good experience with them in NYC and wanted to know whether they're any good in Chicago. I suppose GrubHub is their competitor here.

    My office uses Seamless Web for after hours meals. Every time I've used it, it's been just fine. I think there may be a slight mark up (at least for some places/menu items) if you use Seamless Web as opposed to going straight to the source.
