    We get to Yorktown fairly often, but haven't tried any of the restaurants in the recent addition.

    They include, more or less-
    Adobo Grill
    Brio Tuscan Grill
    D.O.C. American Bistro
    Flat Top Grill
    Holy Mackerel!
    RA Sushi Bar
    Rock Bottom Brewery

    Would appreciate any recs or warnings.

    I have been to RA in glenview and enjoy it for what it is, very very westernized sushi. Almost all of their maki is baked, deep fried, covered in mayo, or contains cream cheese. While that my sound unappetizing, it turns out that the stuff is pretty tasty!

    I have been to other locations of Adobo Grill, which does excellent upscale Mexican fare and has a massive tequila list.

    I ate at Adobo a couple of months ago, and thought it was pretty bad. Their barbocoa tacos were bitter, and greasy. They did have a decent selection of tequila though, I enjoyed a few flights, despite the bad food.

    I was at D.O.C. Wine bar earlier this year. I thought it was a nice wine bar with pretty much what you would expect for small plates, but with meal-size choices as well. Although the small plates aren't that small. Really -- they serve the cheeses on a huge wooden plank that takes up most of the table. Nice selection of cheeses and cured meats, though.

    I've eaten in the bar area after work at Adobo. They have a "happy hour" from 4 to 6 where tacos are $1 each. The baja fish is pretty tasty. Not entirely authentic, mind you, but pretty good. The al pastor tacos are pretty good too. They have this pineapple salsa on them which is delicious.

    Brilliant. The unusual appetizer combo (ale-battered onion rings, a cracker-crust pizza, wings, and smoked chicken rolls) at Rock Bottom is also pretty good in a pinch, with several elements made on site instead of pre-fabbed and frozen.

    Please avoid the new McCormick and Schmik's that's also right there (just west of Route 83). Some of the worst fish and vegetables I've ever had, and the desserts were a freezer-burned disaster, liberally finished with gummy Starbucks-like caramel sauce. Just because you put something on a cedar plank before serving does not elevate the quality of your pond chicken or total lack of culinary skill, people.

    Hubby and I walked into the sushi place. Sat down amid the noise and chaos, looked over the Americanized maki menu and beat a retreat to D.O.C where we had a very nice meal. The atmosphere was much more our speed.

    We've returned twice and been fortunate to have the same pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable waiter. Unfortunately he left the restaurant, and the area, last month. We tend to eat here after the movies and get small plates and a glass of wine or two. The cheeses, pates and cured meats are favorites. I also like the crab cakes.
    "The only thing I have to eat is Yoo-hoo and Cocoa puffs so if you want anything else, you have to bring it with you."
