Apologies if this was covered on the earlier Apart thread and I didn't catch it but it appears Apart Pizza has opened a new shop on Broadway in Edgewater. They were open and offering some free samples tonight. Their delivery area will extend north to Devon and west to at least California they said (which puts me just inside the zone). So Apart fans who lived too far north for delivery from the Montrose location, good news.

    Hellodali,

Thanks for the heads up on Apart, though I'm out of the delivery area.

I think I'll stop in the Broadway shop next week and see if they are offering the $5 8-inch pizza w/soda lunch.

    Enjoy,

Ordered two pizzas from Apart on Montrose this evening. We were unaware of the new location as we've just returned from vacation and hadn't read this thread. After taking our order they called us back shortly to tell us that though we were still in the Montrose delivery area we were nearer to the new location and that they were trying to move some business up there so our pizzas would come from there with our approval. Fine with us, and were we not informed, I'd have never known the difference. Identical menu, at a casual glance.

Yes, there are a couple of tables, & it's very casual. Since the oven is turned up so high in a small space, it gets quite hot (at least it was in the summer). Also, be aware though that the fountain drink dispenser is really high up. At 5'1", it's awkwardly high for me.

Just wanted to give this thread a little bump after enjoying lunch here today. They've raised the prices on the lunch specials by .50, but still a good value.

Started with the house salad, which was a nice surprise. Not the typical iceberg-romaine melange, but a spring mix with yellow and red peppers, grape tomatoes and cucumber:

We shared two 10" pizzas, the Salamino (pepperoni):

and the Capriciosa (ham, mushrooms, artichokes):

With soft drinks with free refills, tax and tip, total was $20 even. Happy to have this place so close by, especially since I think the delivery version of their pizza suffers in quality (it gets cold fast because it is so thin).

Also they now have a website which I didn't see on this or the original Apart Pizza thread:

Giving this thread a bump. After a long hiatus I've ordered from the Broadway Apart twice in the last week and have been very pleased. It's thinner than a NY style pie, but not like a Chicago tavern style. I find it refreshingly light on the cheese and with good sauce and toppings. Not as soggy in the center as a "neapolitan" style. It kind of inhabits its own little niche and I like it. I won't let so much time pass until the next time I order. Note: even though I was quoted an hour both times I ordered they arrived in less than thirty minutes.

I agree--this is a great place. I recently had one of their Diavola pizzas (pepperoni, sweet peppers, and black olives), and I thought it was one of the best pizzas I've had in Chicago. I've eaten pizzas from their Montrose location and found them overly salty, but that seemed to be less of an issue at the Broadway location.

Was out and about around lunchtime yesterday and wondering where to go when I remembered this thread. Found parking directly in front of Apart on Broadway and went inside. Grabbed a menu and scanned it while seated at one of the (only) 3 tables inside (though there are some tables set up outside as well). Noticed some specials listed on the walls that looked appealing and decided to go with those.

It's been a while since my last Apart pizzas and I had only sourced them from the Montrose location as it's within a mile of my house . . . and I've always done take out. I had a memory of them being made with quality ingredients but a bit on the salty side (as noted upthread) for my taste. Perhaps I wasn't ordering the right ones, there's a difference in the kitchens, or (gasp!) my memory's faulty as both of the pies we ordered were just down-right delicious.

I ordered the special of pepperoni/onion/mushroom/green pepper. The crust was light and crisp topped with just the right amount of ingredients - no heavy, gooey mess of glop to weigh this down. Fresh, not canned, mushrooms and crisp green peppers providing a nice bright taste to pair with the sweetness of the thin sliced onions. I don't know what kind of pepperoni was used but it seemed a step above what many places serve - even Mrs. Kman, who doesn't normally care for it, stated that if more pepperoni pizzas were like this she'd be a bigger fan.

The other pizza was the "Verde" - spinach, broccoli and mushrooms (and maybe basil, I can't recall). The amount of green on this was pretty eye popping when it emerged from the kitchen. Unfortunately the amount of water given up by the veggies moistened the crust some, mostly in the center, but I conceded it as a needed compromise once I tasted it as it was really tasty - and this from a confirmed carnivore that usually eschews concoctions such as this. The flavor of the spinach came through clearly and the broccoli was cooked just enough so that it wasn't crudite-crunchy but still far from approaching steam-table lifelessness. It was a big hit with Mrs. Kman. I think she'd be hard pressed not to order this again if it was available despite the presence of a number of other options on the menu that I know piqued her interest.

The pair at the table next to us commented that they almost always get the Verde as well so it must be a fairly regular or recurring special. The salad that one of them was having looked appetizing and I could see us perhaps splitting one of these in the future - though, since we each had 2 slices remaining (cheerfully boxed for take home) I think if we had a salad we'd each be taking home 1/2 pie . . . which wouldn't be the end of the world. :)

2 10" pies and 2 fountain drinks (refillable, though we didn't need to) plus tax for just under $15. It would still have been a bargain at $20.
Objects in mirror appear to be losing.

Apart is closed on Broadway. The owner reconcepted and moved further north to Thorndale and Winthrop. DNAInfo article I walked by the other day. The space looks cool. I look forward to trying it.
