I think I heard this on The Splendid Table and I've been looking for it.

Great song. I especially like the end, defining the word "BBQ".

    Best,

This is part of a series of advertising videos for Alka-Seltzer by comedy duo Rhett & Link. You can see the whole series here:

The three NYC episodes and the Milwaukee cheese rap are cute, too. In L.A., they did a fun bit about Roscoe's. Chicago rated two episodes, but neither is particularly inspired, although for the second one, they went to Superdawg, Lou Malnati's and Mr. Beef.

I did, very much so, thanks.

I found them surprisingly accurate in their regional representations.

The St. Louis episode finds our food crusaders at a role-playing convention where they introduce and play, "Intergalactic Food Smugglers."

It's a little weird in context, though. This is supposedly the Branson, Missouri, stop on the Alka-Seltzer road tour, yet they describe only Southern states' barbecue and ignore the contributions of Kansas City and St. Louis.

Guess that's why they called it A review of BBQ in the southern United States ;)

So why not do it in a Southern state instead of in Missouri? It's like coming to Illinois and doing a pizza review that doesn't include Chicago.

I just caught this link at a friend's blog and realized that it was already posted here. Just brilliant -- like the Hillbilly Schoolhouse Rock of BBQ. :D
