I have seen a number of cheesecake and tarts calling for a chocolate wafer crust. What brand of cookies do I use?

I hear these are found with the ice cream toppings, not the cookies/crackers. Let us know how your recipe turns out, I need to do this soon too :)

BTW - there was a stand at Maxwell Street Market selling the 100-calorie packs of Oreo crisps by the case. I didn't check the price, but if you're there and you are planning a chocolate-wafer crust, this might be the most economical way to do it.

Was just reminded of a favorite cookie by germuska, and thought I'd mention it here. Mimicaos are sometimes available at Marketplace on Oakton, and are lightly-cocoa-y hazelnut cookies. They aren't the same (you're not going to get the chocolate punch you do from Oreos,) but are dry and crumbly and might work well in this application if a sort of nutella-y flavor will work.

Bari carries these as well if that is more convenient to your location.

Any thoughts about substituting a chocolate graham cracker instead? I realize it won't be the same, but could it suffice?
