I thought my sodie tasted a bit off, and after checking the date I realized that it expired in January. But I'm so sleepy, I feel I must continue. Will this ancient diet cola be my last?
It's just fizzy water and "sugar". Why do they have dates anyway?

Aspartame degrades over time, so it will have lost a little sweetness if past its "best by" date. And, yes, after drinking it, you will die - probably sometime in the next 100 - 200 years or so.

I've had out of date Diet Snapple that lost its sweetness entirely.

    Hi,

I remember reading when they were settling Christina Onassis estate, they found diet Coke in a wall safe past its expiration. I recall reading they sent a toxic waste team to dispose of it, which I though was way overkill. Pick up and toss, big deal!

    Regards,
