I got this as a Birthday gift last week.
http://www.amazon.com/Zojirushi-EC-BD15-Thermal-Carafe-Coffee/dp/B0000X7CMQSo far, it is the best coffee maker I have ever had.
I've used the Bodum Santos (Great coffee, Pain to clean), a Braun Flavor Select (eh, and then the switch fuse broke), and a Cuisinart Grind n Brew (This never brewed hot enough and if you tried to use enough coffee for a full pot of water the whole thing exploded).
I wanted the Technivorm, but not being able to set it the night before made me sad. Then I found the Zojirushi.
The pedigree of hot water kettles and rice makers had me thinking that they had hot water down, and I was right. This brews very hot, brews a full 1.5 liter with a #4 cone filter filled to the top with grounds, and the coffee is as good as at Intelligentsia. (Lovely floral notes that I could NEVER get out of the Cuisinart.)
And the carafe keeps it reasonably hot for a couple of hours. After that, it loses the subtlety but is still drinkable.
