Every Christmas Eve, our family goes to my Grandmother's house for a German dinner together. Nothing fancy - potato salad, haakepeter, and German wieners. Gram used to get the wieners at Rosemary's in Lansing. However, now they have closed and Gram is worried about where to get them for this Christmas. I am sure there are places to go in the City and I am happy to go. I just thought I'd put the question here first to see if anyone had a favorite place or a great recommendation. She always got the ones that are a foot long, thin, in natural casing. Thanks so much!
    peace,
    Katharine

Can't swear to the length - but for the right flavor/taste - Try Paulina's Meat Market.

Their weiners certainly taste right - at least in my opinion.

Give Otto Demke at Gepperth's Meat Market a call.

    Thanks for the tips!

I went to visit Gram yesterday and, before I went, I stopped by the Paulina Meat Market. They had "long German wieners," so I got a few, along with a few Knackwurst for Gram. We shared the wieners for lunch. Perfect! Gram kept going on about how delicious they were. I left the knackwurst for her to try later, but looks like we found our Christmas source! (Although I may go try to Gepperth's sometime soon just for myself.)
