hosting an event at a bar

I'm planning on hosting an event with 40-60 people at a bar in the city (lakeview, LP, bucktown, logan square). I was hoping we could get our own room and a good all-you-can-drink special. Some good beers on tap is a huge plus!

Any good options out there I should look at?

I have no idea about the pricing, but people I know that have done this like Black Rock on Damen.

Hopleaf has an upstairs private room that can accommodate 45 people (which might not work if you need the flexibility to go up to 60). There are two options for the open bar, charged by the number of people and number of hours. Details here.

Not sure about an all you can drink special, but we've looked into using Bluebird and Webster's before. It sounds like you're having a party for the hash house harriers

Delilah's can be a great deal; I've been to several of these and hosted a few myself. Prices and deals seem to be sort of negotiable, but it's usually something like $10-$15/person for two hours of draft beer and "wine," which no one ever drinks. You get the whole upstairs to yourself for this period, with a bartender, who'll be happy to make anyone else anything else they want to drink for normal prices. Pretty sure they have Bass, Guinness, Stella, Hoegaarden, at least one Goose Island, and a couple of other decent things.

They have a tendency to double-book the upstairs, so be aware of that. But there's no deposit, and they won't hold you too strictly to a minimum number of guests.

Is the upstairs room in Juicy large enough for so many people? Probably not, I'm guessing, without the patio being open this time of year. It would be worth contacting them just the same, I think (contact details here).

I'll second the Black Rock; it's what I opened the thread to recommend. Great room, separate bar, pool table, comfy chairs. Parking kinda sucks but hey, welcome to Chicago!

It may not be ideal this time of year, but of all places - the Bottom Lounge has a really cool upstairs that can be rented. I'm not sure about the food, but they have an expansive space and a large bar with a great beer selection. There's also a huge outdoor patio with a skyline view. What's makes it stand out though is that you're eyeline with the Lake Street El rumbling by. It really evokes a gritty, urban feel in which out of towners may appreciate. In my mind.... just something different versus some of the typical rental spaces out there.

As a side note.... I think the owner of Delilah's is part owner of Bottom Lounge.

sounds like some good options, i was already leaning towards delilahs based on my own research, so ti's good to hear people like them, i'll definitely check out black rock

We've hosted a few parties at Easy Bar on Division/Damen. I think it's $30-35 per person from 8-11pm. They have basic bottled beer (PBR, Miller HL, etc.) and top shelf liquor available. You get the back part of the bar but you're not "secluded" and in another room. You'll have your own bartender and sometimes waitress. The service is always good and the bar is a decent jumping off point as far as location.
