It's a balmy 1 degree out there, not counting the tropical breezes wafting our way. The sun is shining; the holidays are both here and around the corner. What better time to stroll over to Argyle and enjoy some of the exquisite luncheon creations of our friends at Sun Wah Restaurant? I'm thinking, say, 12:30 pm (but am flexible if need be). Anyone else interested?

I'm working from home today and if I can bear the cold long enough to walk to the Red Line, I'd be game. Count me in for now and I'll post if my work schedule (or tolerance for cold) preclude me from joining.

12:30 it is, barring unforeseen calamities.

    Guys,

I'm really sorry I wasn't able to make it... I just got off a call and realized what time it was. Hope you had a great meal.

Sorry I missed this as well, but I'm signing up for the New Years dinner to make up for it!

No pics, sorry. But oh, what a lunch! Just me and the estimable Mike G and nothing but perfection on the plate: Mike's Fried Chicken (whole chicken, named for the Chang's son), a plate of barbecued pork and duck), beef chow fun, and baby bok choy tips. Had a nice long chat with Kelly about a variety of topics, such as how long they expect to be closed during the move (2 weeks, 3 weeks max), how fresh our chicken was, what bok choy tips are, her brother's tix to tonight's Bears game, etc. Always gregarious, always charming. This place is such a gem. The perfect meal on a wintry day. No wonder there were ten tables with people and more still arriving at 1:45 pm!

Does anyone know if Sun Wah is open on Christmas? I suppose I could call, but I'm too lazy.

I do know the answer. And I could give it to you, but I'm also too lazy.

rcheli posted that he/she was too lazy to pick up the telephone. Not: I tried and looked everywhere and couldn't find it. Not: I searched LTH. No effort whatsoever. And then happily admitted he/she was too lazy to pick up the phone. Last time I checked, this board wasn't a research service. Yes, we help each other out all the time--but almost always after the person with the question has exerted some effort. Here, the only effort I see is the minute it took to post the query. A minute that could have been spent using the Search function or on the telephone calling Sun Wah.

It's Christmas though, and I appreciate that kman's attitude is way more in the spirit of the holidays than mine or Gypsy Boy's :)

But I did get a nice chuckle out of both replies, so thanks for the Xmas cheer, guys!

So if I hadn't mentioned I was lazy, I wouldn't have gotten the lovely response? I searched for Sun Wah, noticed that there was a recent lunch planned there, and assumed that someone who went to that get-together saw their hours for the holiday.

I apologize for my poor choice of wording, but come on. Let's lighten up a little.

Happy Holidays! So, are you going to Sun Wah for Christmas? If so, I look forward to reading about the experience. Sun Wah is one of my favorite places.

I think we are -- we've been there a few times, and always enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to some tasty, crispy duck.
