I've been off soda for 3 years, mainly due to the fact that HFCS started making me feel ill whenever I had it. Occasionally I will accidentally have beverages such as lemonade that have HFCS and I can immediately tell when I'm drinking one of those as opposed to a lemonade such as Nantucket Nectars that uses cane sugar. There's an overall harsher flavor to HFCS, IMHO. Even when I did drink soda, I always preferred the Mexican Cokes and cane sugar sodas available at Trader Joe's and other stores. I do miss having the occasional Coke out of a bottle!

Note: German Coca-Cola has sugar, not HFCS, as I found out in Frankfurt two weeks ago.

I've never seen it imported, though.

I've had dutch coca cola (also sugar sweetened) imported, ordered from one of the online soda retailers...

Unfortunately, it looks like they got a lawsuit threat and have stopped selling imported pepsi and coca cola products.

Folks, I was at a SoCal Costco last week and saw CASES of Mexican Coke, labeled only with "sugar cane".

Just wanted to give a heads up. Understand Costco items are regional, but maybe someone will find some somewhere.

I find it intriguing that Woodman's is well supplied with .5l sugar cane Cokes.

Banner Wholesale Grocers carries mexicoke, something like $20 per case (plus tax). I was told the store is open to the general public last time I was there. You have to buy by the case. It's at the very end of a complex of wholesalers, just off the I-55/Ashland exit.

You can also, or could, get mexicoke by the case at La Unica. Anyone know if that still works?

I was surprised on a Continental Airlines flight last night to find Dutch Coca Cola handed to me. Small consolation for a 3-hour delay, but sugar sweetened is certainly better.

It's 5ml less than the 335 in a US 12oz can, but hardly worth counting. It's offset by a heavier can, so hard to tell on first grasp.

I gave up soda as one of my dietary restrictions two years ago. However, on my recent vacation to Isla Mujeres, I couldn't pass up a real coke (no coca dieta for me) to accompany a plate of enchilada suizas at one of the local loncherias.

It was a steamy hot day and I had been scooting around the island on one of my hotels great little bikes. I had worked up both a great appetite and was pretty parched.

It was the best coke I have ever tasted in my life.

Are there any grocers (besides Banner Wholesale) that sell Mexican Coke by the 24 pk?

I saw cases of Mexican Coke on the floor of Produce World, Cumberland & Lawrence last Friday through at least the past three months. Any enterprising grocer or liquor store owner will get it for you, just negotiate, the per case price first.

Thanks for the tip. I went to Produce World to check it out and it was priced at $25 for a 24 pack, which is pretty ridiculous. Woodman's sells them for 99 cents per bottle!

If anybody knows of a place that sells them in bulk for under a dollar per bottle, please post. Thanks!

I went to the Woodman's in Loves Park, IL today to check out their supply of Mexican Coke. They usually sell them for 99 cents for a 330 mL bottle. But now, all I saw were 500 mL bottles for $1.69! Grrrrr....

I'll have to take note next time I'm in the Carpentersville Woodmans. They have other bottled Mexican beverages that I'm not familiar with and haven't tried.

IIRC Joe Caputos up in Algonquin has Mexican Pepsi and more.

    $17.99/ 24-pack @ Costco (Homestead, Pittsburgh)
Perhaps this is inappropriate here - but the only other thread I could think of was the one where Costco stopped carrying coke.

Seems appropriate to me, especially seeing as I've seen and sampled similarly overpriced Mexican Coke bottles (in case form) at local Costcos as well -- mine off Touhy between Village Crossing (er, Lehigh) and Caldwell. I'm just going for Mountain Dew and (to a lesser extent) Pepsi Throwback, available in 18-can form at that same Chicagoland Costco, but cheaper at area Dominick's and Jewel stores thanks to certain sales as of late. I must say that Mountain Dew Throwback really tastes of actual liquid sugar this time around, though, and I like it. (Can you tell I've been stocking up?)

The Sam's Club by me (in Tinley Park) has been carrying Mexican Coke by the case as well. I want to say price-wise, it's around $22 for a case of 24?

This is a pretty old thread and Mexi-Coke is now pretty common and widely avialable. I was in Carbondale a couple of weeks ago and it was on the shelf in their local Schnuck's grocery. If it made it to Carbondale, the market has pretty well been saturated.
