Noticed this signage with a "coming soon" banner on the former CVS (or was it Walgreens?) spot on the west side of Pulaski just south of the intersection of Lawrence & Pulaski. I have no intel and am trying not to get my hopes up too high. Getting in and out of the parking lot and traffic can be a bit of a nightmare there, but it would be walkable for us in nice weather. I'll post again as more info becomes available.

This placed opened last Wednesday. I stopped in today to check it out. While I wouldn't recommend making a trip here from outside the neighborhood, it is a nice addition for those of us who live and/or work nearby. They had tons of fresh-looking produce, nicely displayed and for very competitive prices. Cilantro was 3 bunches for $1.00. Green Onions were 5 bunches for $1.00. The place was absolutely immaculate - hope it stays that way. Aisles are wide, also a plus. Meat/deli, and frozen areas are pretty small, but canned/dry goods are fairly well stocked. Mexican seems to be the nationality most represented by the "international" in Mayfair International Market, but there were some Asian produce items, and Indian, Thai, and Eastern European items in the dry goods section. I did notice they have the full range of El Yucateco hot sauces. :D

I forgot to look at the exact address, but it is steps away from the Lawrence and Pulaski intersection.

It will certainly be good for the neighborhood since Harvest Time, east of there on Lawrence, can get astoundingly crowded.

Mayfair Market is on Pulaski, on the west side of the street, just south of Lawrence.

I look forward to checking it out soon.

    Best,

    LTH,

First visit to Mayfair Market today and, at first blush, Mayfair is not going into my regular market rotation. Good pricing, but nothing really sang. Produce was ~fine~, but nothing sparkled, for example I had to pick through many a pickling cucumber to come up with 6 that met my liking. Lemons were mushy with brown spots, and a few had spots of white fuzz, small selection of meats, standard deli items. In the general neighborhood I prefer Cermak, Tony's and Harvest Time. All in all an ok store if you are within walking distance.

    Enjoy,
    Gary
