    Also see the affectionate ode to bacon fat in the February Saveur (p. 24, "Saveur 100" edition) by Shane Mitchell, who points out that it (plus two fingers of bourbon every day) kept his grandmother going till the age of 94. I don't know about you, but I'm convinced!
