Could anyone recommend a few Vietnamese restaurants in Glendale Heights? I think the last place I visited was Tay Do and that was a while ago. It was good then--how is it now?

Or if there is already a thread on this, a link would be great. Thanks.

I ate here several months ago. I found it completely by accident. Nothing fancy, but good eats.

    I am very pleased with

    Pho Le
    541 S. Schmale Road
    Carol Stream IL 60188
    630-588-8299

Not as big, fancy, or extensive as Tay Do (my alltime favorite), but good basics and good pho. Some of the same people as Tay Do. Just east of Schmale on Geneva Road, north side of Geneva. Bourdain/moreso Zimmern fans might want to try 25. Chao Long. Translated tripe soup it is really congee loaded with liver-not much tripe-interesting but strong taste.
There is a new pan-asian (Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai) place in the Tay Do space. Only tried the spring roll-not as good as Pho Le.
To me, Pho Le is better than Pho Ha, Vietnamese Bistro on North Ave., or the new place.

Aha! I had been to Tay-Do and liked it a year and a bit ago.. but was in the same area a few months ago and (going on memory for directions), found the strip-mall I thought oughta have Tay-Do, but it seemed to be closed. So is this true, ie Tay Do is no more, then?

Thanks for the other recs, will try them the next time in the area!

Look like the old staff from Tay Do has taken over the Pho Le's location. I recognize the matriarch cook in the kitchen along with a couple of her family members helping out as waiter/waitress.

Mrs Willie & I were in Glendale Heights yesterday around lunchtime (noon) Saturday).

We had planned to eat in at Pho Ha but place was PACKED, with numerous folks waiting to get in.

So we got 3 banh mi sandwiches to go. While I think that a Nhu Lan banh mi would consistently be judged a better banh mi than those served at Pho Ha, I was still a happy camper with our Pho Ha sandwiches. The bread is terrific, the fillings good (they need the flavors that pop like the good banh mi places), cost cheap, so I was pleased with our lunch.

Just a note, most every person seated had a bowl of pho in front of them, so clearly there are fans. I know I'd be pleased to have Pho Ha nearby if I lived in the Glendale Heights area.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.
