I think I've found my new favorite restaurant in NYC Chinatown. Amazing 66. It's a big, bustling, well-lit place, reminiscent of Chicago's Evergreen. You know, sort of nice, sort of shabby. Anyway, I stopped for some comforting food on a chilly night and was rewarded with one of the five best things I can remember eating-- Garlic Roast Chicken:

Think juicy. Think salty and a little sweet. Think skin like crunchy silk. Think crispy bits of minced garlic and scallions both topping the bird and soaking up the delicious sauce.
As an accompaniment, I enjoyed perfectly sauteed spinach along with the ubiquitous Tsing Dao, making for as satisfying a meal as I've had in years. I can't wait to go back and try some of the many incredible dishes I saw pass by my table. Oh, and sorry for the lousy cell phone pic; I really wasn't expecting such a wonderful dinner.
