This was posted on the other thread, but it does look like Delacosta finally gave up.
Too bad, since I liked the place a few months ago.
I've heard rumors about NoMi closing due to a renovation of the space.

As a follow up to my own post....I checked on everyblockchicago and saw that Rootstock's taven licence application was recieved on January 13, 2009. How long, on average, b/w application and issuance from the city?

Lola - Metromix claims they'll open in April (which seems far too long)

On rootstock's window, they already have a menu and a "mission" statement, along w/ the fact that they will be at the next local CAPS meeting. I'm guessing they will be opening fairly shortly...

Located at 906 S Oak Park Ave in Oak Park has been going through some renovations as of late. I stopped by today to ask what was coming in and one of the contractors mentions that it will be a Brazilian place. Not serving steaks but more hot snack items like Empanadas.

Sounds like a great addition to the area! Stay tuned...

It looks like Tiny Lounge may finally be open (they took over the space formerly occupied by Charlie's on Leavitt). No grand-opening signage, but noticed people in the bar on Friday night. I assumed it was a private party. However, walked by again last night and it looked like it was open for business.

Regarding the Tapas place on Wells -- The name is Eivissa and, from what I have read, they should be opening at the end of Feb.

<edit> I am almost certain that I read that it was opening at the end of Feb in Dish but can't seem to find the link at the moment. According the the website (www.eivissachicago.com) they will be opening this "spring."

They made decent fresh Italian subs as well as an excellent meatball sandwich. The place is now cleaned out and there is a sign posted thanking cutomers for years of patronage.

That sucks. I've spent a lot of time discouraging my co-workers from going to Jimmy John's and directing them to Mangino's instead. Not the best subs in the world, but an independent business that deserved to be supported.
