Some of you are familiar with me and my restaurant, Kenny & Zuke's. For those that aren't, see Ronnie's very generous report:

    viewtopic.php?f=15&t=20757

We're about a month or so away from opening a second shop, a counter-service only place called Kenny & Zuke's Sandwichworks. It's not going to be a Jewish deli, but rather primarily a hoagie and hero place focusing on the superstars of the sandwich world, things like meatball parmigiano, cheesesteak, muffaletta, pulled pork, pan bagna, reuben, of course, and even things like banh mi. I really want to try to do a jibarito as a gluten-free special that would rock.

We were thinking it might be fun to honor the places that have inspired us by using their take-out menus and logo'd sandwich wraps or basket liners on our walls. So that's where you all come in. If you could send me these, I would greatly appreciate it. I'll gladly reimburse you for any shipping costs and I could send a "care package" to be used in an LTH get-together.

There are lots of great places, obviously, in Chicago. Two that immediately come to mind would be:

    Al's Italian Beef
    Manny's Delicatessen

But even places like Papa's Cache Sabroso or Hot Doug's -- or whatever place is your favorite.

Anyway, if you can, you can send them to me at:

    Kenny & Zuke's
    c/o Nick Zukin
    1038 SW Stark St
    Portland, OR 97205

Include a return address and a reibursement amount and I'll send it off. And, of course, if you know people in other cities or will be visiting another city soon, would love to get some from other places as well.

Probably need to put a deadline of February 21st on this.

    TIA

    Nick,

Consider it done. I'll start collecting for you and send a bunch off in a couple of weeks.
