I went out at lunch today to buy some naan for dinner and there were an awful lot of places closed, including Sukhadia's and Annapurna. Is today a holiday or is Tuesday just the day that Little India shuts down?

No incense burned in the office this morning, so my nose tells me it's not any sort of Hindu holiday today

The last time I failed to serve my lords and masters properly by leaving enough food within easy reach, I came home to find a bag of marshmallows that had been on the kitchen counter on the floor in our living room. Bite marks were abundant, all over the plastic bag and on the surfaces of most of the marshmallows.

2 days later I found a marshmallow in a glass of water I had poured perhaps an hour before and left at my desk briefly while watching television in the other room. It seemed a somehow rather ominous warning that I had best not forget to leave their food out again. Or expect them to eat anything as wretched as mass-produced marshmallows

sadly, the same thing seems to be true for the Vietnamese restaurants here in Charlotte. I got what sounded like some great recommendations for Vietnamese duck, but, alas...

No kidding. Thanks for the tips, all! Boy, am I glad I got my naan. Maybe that's why the place I went was totally dead at 12:45. I can't remember the name of the place, but it was directly kitty-corner (ha!) from India Sari Palace, Moti Mahal? It had a red awning, and the buffet sure smelled good. Or perhaps this is an omen of bad food. Anybody been to this place whose name I don't know?

*And to all you cat fans out there, I dodged a bullet. I also forgot to take up his dry food from last night, so Sir Hiss wasn't so starved after all. ucjames - hilarious story!

Many stores on Devon are closed on Tuesdays. I don't think there is any particular reason for that (religious or otherwise). They just chose Tuesday.

Weekends are really busy, and it's the day they do the least amount of business so they close.
