Admittedly, I am fussy, but I have only found a few canned soups that make the grade.

Anything by Healthy Choice doesn't have like 80,000 migs of sodium. Pretty much the only things I've had that don't taste like colored salt water. Used to like progresso, but they changed all of their canned soups like two years ago. Can't do em anymore. Healthy Choice or nothing for me.

P.s. No canned soup is really any good - it's just one of those things.

I typically make soups from scratch(cream soups as well as navy bean, french onion, & chicken varieties), however with a toddler @ home we always have some Campbells Chicken Noodle, and Bean with Bacon on hand.

She prefers my soups to the canned varieties, but the Campbells fill their role after the typical 12 hour work day during the week, allowing for a quick bowl of soup with dinner when I havent been in soup cooking mode the previous weekend.

Alot of times I will pour off the broth from the chicken noodle soup, and top the noodles with oyster sauce for her and me to snack on.

This doesn't really count since it's not canned, but Campbell's roasted tomato pepper in the aseptically sealed box is not bad, and I always kinda liked the frozen Tabatchnik chicken noodle soup. I agree with seebee though, there are no good canned soups. I only buy the Healthy Choice once in awhile in case I run out of leftovers or I'm feeling especially lazy because of the lower sodium level, and it doesn't totally suck.

I too also have Campbell's Bean with Bacon soup on hand, and Campbell's tomato soup. Comfort foods from childhood. Tomato soup and a cheese sandwich. Too bad Bozo is off the air ...

The only canned variety I sorta like is TJs clam chowder. I add an extra can of clams 8)

The Tabatchnicks are decent, but as noted above, like most soup they are extremely salty. I simply add more water to the chicken one with noodles and a matzoh ball. Sometimes I throw in a few more noodles to go along with the extra water. I get about double the servings that way with half the sodium (which isn't saying a lot....but it's tolerable).

I make from scratch soup all of the time using Kitchen Basic vegetable stock as my base. I used to get Healthy Choice to take to work but always added salt because they are so bland!

Not exactly canned, but boxed. Tastefully Simple's Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup. It is simple, just whisk the contents into boiling water. I add ham, corn, etc., to spruce it up. A great tasting soup, considering the work involved.

I quite like the black bean soup from La Preferida. Bookbinders snapper soup survives canning pretty well, though an extra drop of sherry perks it up. Wolfgang Puck's creamy organic butternut squash soup is dandy.

My favorite soups growing up I haven't seen in years. There was a company that canned vichyssoise, chicken Senegalese, and chicken Madrilene, all of which I loved growing up. But even the power of the Internet can't locate them for me now. If you see them, let me know. I remember them being amazing. It would be interesting to try them now.
