Is this what Food Network does now? They take successful shows on other networks and make a crappy food-oriented copy? (top chef, mythbusters, amazing race)

They're the knock-off clothing street vendors of cable TV.

perhaps food network should open casting for a new creative content director instead.

he/she could then take his/her cue for original programming from lth's best own....

david hammond - somewhat bizzarro foods.
g wiv - barbequeing in the backyard with the boys.
mike g - kill it and eat it.
    cathy2 - tri-state diners, drive - ins and dives.
ronnie surburban - well fed and (damn right) happy.

seriously FN really has become unwatchable with its increasingly vapid programming and endless reruns. i derive more useful information and entertainment from this forum.

Nah, this the coin of the realm in tv. They all do it. That said, I can't remember the last truly original program Food Network came up with.

    mike, thanks... i think.

good thing i stayed out of that breeders and kids brouhah a while back.

what with 'breasts flying and kids screamimg'... i would've gotten "punched in the eye" for sure by you had i commented there.

anyways... lth members really shine and i thought a little friendly levity was in order on my part to cover some of my snide commentary from yesterday.

    arkay,

For someone who recently delurked, you sure did cover everyone fairly accurately. Please note I am just as likely to eat roadkill as Hammond. 8)

Clearly you have been reading before you posted.

There is that tricky requirement that most of us are over 45, though Ron may still be in striking distance.

This did cross my mind, especially when you consider the talent they are overlooking because of an arbitrary number! It is really their loss.

hmmmm.... nothing garners ratings like a well turned ankle capped off by a clunky running shoe.

FN is clearly targeting its youth audience.

forget the lumpy looking food detective, drop batali and moulton.... give us more scoop neck cleavage shots from giada, the cuteness from lil' darling rachel ray and ever burbling from sandra lee.

use endless repeats of visually hypnotic shows, streaming endless extrusions of processed food and call it a network.

cackling paula deen? that's one i can't figure here.

I bet it's not even a real show. You show up with your apron and your resume and then suddenly Bobby Flay jumps out and challenges you to a Belgian waffle throwdown.
