BK has had some of the zaniest, catchiest, creepiest advertising around for the past five years or so. The King is just evil genius.

McDonald's is finally catching up (DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE HUMMING THIS FOR THE REST OF THE DAY):

Crispin-Porter is a very weird ad agency. I interviewed them years ago. Maybe I'm just an old fogey, but they seemed to be a style-over-substance type place.

Their style over substance has created some of the most memorable campaigns of the last few years. Maybe not the ones most identified with burger king (subservient chicken...) but I think all of the recent ones with the King and the casts of 100 singing songs about whoppers are pretty great.

"The King" commercials that played a couple of years ago - the ones the guy would be driving home and suddenly the King was in his backseat with a whopper, or he'd wake up, and there was the King in bed with him, offering him a breakfast sandwich - are among my favorite commercials ever. Creepy, simple, & hilarious. Plus, they gave my older brother nightmares, which is always a plus.

I am on my oldschool blackberry so I can't watch it, but I am guessing that it is the double fillet of fish song. G.F. Loves that commercial and rewinds every time it comes on. Personally I think Denny's Nannerpus is creepier and funnier but that is just me.

Creepier, funnier and ironic, since the very Nannerpus that they ridicule is exactly like the stuff on their menu.

Oh goodness, that nannerpus commercial and song is a double edged sword for me. I have it as my desktop background at work, and everytime I see it, I feel the irrepressible need to sing the song. Obviously, I could just change the background, but I doubt that would remove the mental image of Nannerpus' remaining eye glaring back at me, directly into my soul.

I hate you. Even though I knew what you were probably linking to, I clicked anyway just to be sure. That song drives me up a wall. I have a Pavlovian reaction to that ad but, instead of drooling, it makes me want to throw heavy objects at the TV. Now I'm going to have it running through my head as I try to fall asleep. It's almost as bad and annoying as those spongemonkey's Quizno's commercials from a few years back ("We like the moon....")

    Those BK commercials, though, genius.

A few months ago, there was someone dressed up as the King handing out wallets in front of Sears Tower, I believe they were calling it the reverse pick pocket....and the wallet was filled with id's, coupon's an actual $1. I don't know if they were filming a commercial, I did think it was strange, but I did find a Florida license on the ground with the King on it and I love to show people when they ask for my id. It always gets a good laugh.
