Anyone Know Where I Can Find Young Green Coconuts?

Hello everyone, I am looking to make some Kefir and was wondering if anyone out there knows where I could find some young green coconuts? I know I can buy coconut water at a local vitamin store, but I am looking for the real thing. I have read that some of the ethnic stores might carry them, and hoping some LTH'ers could lend a helping hand. I live in Lincoln Square and do not have a car, but am willing to travel within the city.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!!! Also, if you have made Kefir and would like to pass along some tips that would be great as well!

Most ethnic stores (and even some regular grocery stores) carry this sort of thing, I've seen them at HMart, Marketplace on Oakton among other places. You can also order one as a drink in many places: Joy Yee's or Tub Tim Thai, to mention two.

Please keep us posted, I'd never heard of coconut water kefir until now.

I'm fairly certain I saw them at the Rogers Park Fruit Market last week.

Closest safe bet for you might be the Argyle/Lawrence Vietnamese markets.
