Apologies if there is a dedicated thread but the only reference I found was from Kennyz in "openings and closings".
Your Kitchen is a great local carry out spot -- just a small counter and a large immaculate professional kitchen that I was invited to view. The owners, Denice and Rodger make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. In addition to a menu of fresh prepared sandwiches, salads and entrees, they also have a seperate list of prepackaged frozen soups and meals ready to heat and eat. I learned that Denice is friends with the owner of the bar on the corner -- Lizards Lounge -- where patrons can order from Your Kitchen and have their food brought over.
After much deliberating (and chatting with Denice about curly hair products) I decided I had to try the reuben hushpuppies and the tuna melt with fresh cut fries ($7). Hush puppies ($6 --think there were 6 in the order) were delish with chunks of corned beef (imo could have used more) with a side of homemade 1000 island dressing. Tuna melt had a generous portion of tuna salad simply dressed with chopped onion, celery and mayo (maybe lemon juice??) on an english muffin. As the menu promised it was "covered" in provolone cheese, tenting each half. Fries were good but could have been a little more well done and will be sure to ask next time.
Other fresh options include pulled pork, meatloaf, burgers and a tequila marinated chicken sandwich which I'll be trying on my next visit along with the sriracha wings that Denice said the folks in the bar have been going crazy over.
It's great to have a non fast food, reasonably priced option between the highway and home in North Center that's open late. I'm definilty looking forward to taste other items from their changing menu and may need to plug their # in my phone...
