We'll be getting out of a show in around 10:30p.m. or so this Friday, and would like to go somewhere just for dessert. A short cab ride would be fine, as I realize we may need to escape the Times Square area.

    Thanks,

We're big fans of Becco. Recently, we dropped in for an after-theatre dessert and enjoyed delightful house-made biscotti and cheesecake. It's an attractive place and, although we were just having dessert, the service was most gracious. Also, it's just a short stroll from the theaters.
BTW, what play are you seeing?

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Paul SL: We're not seeing a broadway show. We're going to Birdland for two concerts. First, Jason Robert Brown, composer, singer and piano player (wrote the tony award winning score for Parade), and then the husband and wife team of Jessica Molaskey and John Pizzarelli. Great music if you into the jazz/cabaret/showtune type of stuff.

Becco's a good call. Milk Bar isn't close. For a place that's kinda over the top, the bar at Gilt in the NY Palace (by St. Pat's) is quite good, and something to see once. It shares the kitchen with the restaurant. Bar at the Peninsula is nice too if the weather is good. Can't vouch for the desserts.

Birdland's one of my faves, especially on Monday nights.

    Have a great time.

I usually like to report back after asking for assistance. Unfortunately, our flight to New York on Friday was 6 hours late, so, while we made our show, there was no chance to go out for dessert. Next time! Thanks to all who chipped in.
