1/2 way between Naperville and Lakeview??

Going to meet up with an old friend for lunch sometime next week. Cuisine type not as important as value. Also we haven't seen each other in a few years so we'll be sitting for a while; not looking for a place that is going to toss us out the door as soon as we're finished eating. I'm a big sushi fan, she's not. As I am directionally-challenged, can anyone come up with a good lunch spot that fits the criteria?? Thanks

Our friend lives in Bridgeport and we are in Batavia, about 45 miles apart. We try to get together for lunch every few months and have found Oak Brook around the mall a good half way point. She takes 290/88 and we take Butterfield Road which turns into 22nd Street. Places we have tried in the past, Stir Crazy, Braxton Seafood Grill and Reza's but there is plenty more in the area. We too like to visit for awhile more than we feel comfortable in a restaurant so we go to Barnes & Noble and have tea and talk for several hours afterwards.

Oak Brook is a good suggestion and there are a lot of options in that area. However, in all fairness to the person living in Lakeview, it's really not 1/2 way between Naperville and Lakeview (it's about 15-20 min., on the one hand, versus 45 min. to an hour -- depending on traffic -- from Lakeview). I am not all that familiar with the options in and around Oak Park, but it seems like it also might be a good suggestion (and a little more centrally-located).

I'd suggest Emilio's in Hillside. It's easy to find (a block south of the Mannheim/Lagrange exit of the Eisenhower) and roughly halfway between the two of you. I don't think they serve lunch on Sundays or Mondays, though...something to keep in mind.

Chaihanna in Buffalo Grove.

You can find it in the GNRs. About 1/2 hour or so from both places, and pretty good.

agree with other poster who said oak brook is way closer to naperville than lakeview. i'd suggest gaetano's in forest park. very good italian.
