Three Taiwanese Friends/Where to take them to dinner

Really appreciate your suggestions. Three Taiwanese world travelers, ages 62. 55, and 36 all men, visiting Chicago on business. They take me to the best places in Taipei (Chinese of course). Coming in late June. Where to take them, prefer downtown, something $50-$100/ person but good conversation and Chicago. They are not big drinkers. Thanks very much!

Let me try again. Taiwanese guests....normally I meet them in Germany and take them to French restaurants which they seem to like since the younger fellow takes pictures of the food and they indulge in a bit of good wine. I was just hoping someone with Chinese background or Chinese friends could help me decide where to take them here! Really appreciate any help....Thanks! ZB

I'd bet that they'd not be able to not like Avec. If you can get some more people together, maybe Mercat a la Planxa for whole baby pig (ordered in advance). Everest or Spiaggia would work as well.

I think it depends a fair bit on what they are likely to enjoy. My experience has been that there is a wide range of interest and comfort in different cuisines beyond Chinese, even among Chinese people who are well traveled, although Taipei is pretty cosmopolitan and they sound like they might be as well. Mercat a la Planxa is a great idea. I think that's a very accessible Western cuisine for the Chinese. But that might not be a consideration at all. A steakhouse might also work really well, and be a little bit Chicago.
