Here is a 2-ply fry-guy one-two punch:

Bag of fries Susie's on Montrose with a chocolate mint shake.

Drink half the shake to clear the palatte, walk a few feet west, get an even bigger and better bag of fries from the Beef place.

My favorite 1-2 lately has been a dog from Jimmy's for the ride home from Cemitas Puebla. The steaming hot fries and dog whet my appetite perfectly for a cemita and a taco de arabe. They may not be as close together as my other favorite of a sandwich from Bari matched with a slice of pizza and a loaf of bread from D'Amatos but it's great just the same.....and if you're driving it's not too inconvenient. There's also the classic beef from Al's and a skip across the street to Mario's for a taste of heavenly summer.

Anywhere in Chinatown (pretty much always LSC, unless we're getting dim sum) followed by bubble tea from Joy Yee. This one is a lot more pleasant in the warmer months when you can drink the bubble tea outside.

Hot doug's ---> kuma's corner ---> nearest cardiac cath lab.

Really though, my favorite one two punch is the Al's on Taylor followed by a refreshing $1 Dixie cup of Italian ice from mario's as already mentioned. Great summer date.

Oh, also if you're coming from the north (and you're with other people to help you eat it) a good carry-out one two would be an order of mac n cheese from Fat Willy's on your way down western to pick up a much superior BBQ meal from honey 1. I tried this one day but Willy's only offers a full order of mac n cheese to go @ $10.

My wife's favorite one-two punch is an egg roll at Kow Kow for her appetizer. And for dinner, she orders another egg roll!

For me, the crunchiness and sweet/savory interplay of Gus' Dipping Dog at Wiener and Still Champion is the ideal dessert, no matter what (and how much) precedes it.

Sometimes when I was feeling frisky I'd do it the other way around.

I was pretty wild back then.

Today's great one-two punch: burger at Patty's Diner, medium-rare, with old potatoes followed by a Belgian chocolate from Al's Deli. I'm so wonderfully full right now.

Whenever we head to destinations in the 3600-4200 west range, typically points north of Grand, I cannot resist a stop at Jimmy's. Hot dog and fries followed by a cemita or a bowl of pozole at the Brown Sack. Last week Jimmy's was the intentional destination, when we spotted the recently lauded Taco El Jaliciense heading west on Grand. Dogs followed by tacos al pastor (brilliantly charred, yet not quite as strongly marinated at favorite Tierra Caliente (the taqueria formerly known as Carniceria Leon)). A hangover two-for that for some of my crew meant a visit with Dr. Tums.

I've been doing a 1-2 takeout punch of Sun Wah and Chiu Quon a lot lately.

After my inaugural visit to Great Lake Pizza last night, I'd have to say it, followed by Pasticceria Natalina would be a phenomenal 1-2 punch, as both places are arguably the best in town in their respective categories.
