According to yesterday's Dish, "La Tache (1475 W. Balmoral Ave.; 773-334-7168) is in the process of remodeling and introducing 'a more streamlined approach.' It will reopen on April 24th."trpt2345 wrote:It appears that La Tache at 1475 W. Balmoral is no more. The sign is down and the windows are papered over. I live on Balmoral and drive down the street all the time. I noticed it yesterday.

Pastry chef Nathaniel Meads (Blue Water Grill, Brasserie Jo, Everest, Tru), his wife, Elaine Heaney, and partner Jared Nance (both Nacional 27 vets) are opening this pastry-centered Lincoln Park cafe in late April. Look for classic pastries such as brioches, danishes and croissants, as well as the not-so-common, including bostock and pithiviers. They'll also offer savory selections for lunch and dinner, with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients sourced from local markets and vendors. Expect a light lineup of salads, soups, flatbread pizzas and tartine-style sandwiches.

The last time I was at Joe’s Crab Shack (in Gurnee) it took 45 minutes to get our lunch. We finally told our server just to make it “to go” because we had to get back to work. It wasn’t very good either, the shrimp were like rubber.
