I am heading to Seattle for a long weekend--first solo getaway since having kids and am eager to eat lots of great seafood, sushi, oysters, drink good coffee, etc. No fine dining--just good eats. Any recommendations would be
    appreciated!

Two places I've eaten that I really enjoyed were Chinook and Cutter's. Both have outstanding food and great locations (Chinook, on the water near a marina, Cutter's, on a hillside overlooking the water, and just next door to Pike Place Market).

Loved the wild king salmon at Chinook, and I'd go back to Seattle just to have another bow of Cutter's smoked salmon chowder.

There are a few Seattle threads, take a gander at the search option above. I really liked Matt's at the Market and Elliott's, Salumi was good as well.

Four Places I would recommend range from the dive to fine dining:

    Zippy’s Giant Burgers
Great burgers in West Seattle and a very unique atmosphere.

    Boom Noodle
Not your typical noodle shop. More of a unique take on Japanese small plates, soups and noodles.

    Ray’s Boathouse
Excellent FRESH Pacific Northwest seafood and local produce. A pretty incredible view of the sound as well.

    Pike Place Chowder
Their chowder won the national cook off in Rhode Island if that tells you anything. Very Tasty!

I can also recommend Flying Fish in the Belltown neighborhood. When I was there last, they were running a happy hour special of $.25 each freshly shucked oysters on the half shell and Red Hook ESB draft pints for $2 IIRC. For dinner, I had a marvelous seared ahi tuna (huge piece of fish) with steamed, seasoned bok choy and a risotto cake. I dug the funky vibe of the place and the food and service were solid.

Chiso Kappo (upstairs of the normal Chiso restaurant) is a splendid kaiseki experience, not quite rivaling Urasawa, but not too far removed.
