What do you think is the best Sunday brunch (either buffet or off-the-menu) in Lake County? Looking to celebrate one of our mother's birthday in June. Thanks.

I dont have a lot of brunch experience, but by far the best one that I have ever done in Lake County is at the Deerpath Inn in Lake Forest. It is very expensive, and very fancy, but it is outstanding. The website is http://www.dpihotel.com

Funny, we've got a double graduation brunch this Sunday, and we had to decide between Deerpath Inn and Seasons of Long Grove. We opted for Seasons, because we've been there before (never been to Deerpath but heard it's fabulous) and it was half the price, $19.95 per.

Beautiful setting, nice atrium, fine food and we know the family because they used to own Jasper's on Waukegan Road in Glenview & in the early days that place was a better-than-good Greek coffee shop.

I'll give you a report next week.

Prairie Grass does an off the Menu brunch and I had an entree there that was so transcendent, I'll never forget it.
It was a surf and turf benedict.
A tallgrass beef filet, and a crab cake, both topped with hollandaise.
Clogs my arteries and curls my toes just to think about eating it again....
    sigh
