While we love the Hyde Park location I wonder how their other locations measure up?
825 Church St, Evanston (847) 733-9030
2352 E 172nd St, Lansing (708) 474-1378
Calypso Café, 5211 S Harper Ave, Chicago (this will probably go too.)
Dixie Kitchen & Bait Shop
5225 S Harper Ave, Chicago
(Hyde Park original location)
(773) 363-4943
Maybe Obama can step in?

I have been to the one in Evanston and and Hyde Park...the only difference between the two places for me was it was easier to park at the one in Evanston. Johnny cakes with butter taste just as yummy up North as they do on the Southside

Granted, I have not been there in a few years but I did visit Calypso Cafe occasionally for a number of years after it first opened, and it never really came close to measuring up to Dixie Kitchen or struck me as anything worth traveling for. Adding some of Dixie Kitchen's menu selections may help though.
Meanwhile, I would also love input from anyone who has been to the Evanston or Lansing locations. Dixie Kitchen was by far my wife's favorite when we lived in Hyde Park, and one of very few few reasons we ever return to the area these days. I dread telling her about this

Hopefully they will have more success than the previous occupants.
