Great wings found at local Ameri-Chinese (Great Dragon)

Great Dragon has been my place for take out Chinese here in Logan Square for the last 6 months or so. I typically stick to my usual order of something like, fried dumplings, mushu pork, large combo or BBQ pork Lo Mein (they do a very good job on this in the Amei-Chinese style with plenty of wok-hay) and a combo Mongolian Beef/fried rice. Clearly this is not exotic food... to me it is well done comfort food at a great price when I don't feel like cooking or traveling. It is always good to have a place like this that you know will perform at a certain level.

Well, on my last order I was feeling frisky and ordered their oft recommended "hot and spicy Chicken wings". I was shocked when they arrived.












These wings were well fried, sweet, truly spicy, with strong ginger and garlic. I have never found wings (of any style) I liked much here in Chicago. In fact I am moving back to CT to manage a place that does the best wings I know of. While the wings at Great Dragon aren't in the same league as Slider's they are a damn fine wing and if you like a messy, tangy, crispy hot wing. Put in a order for these "extra crisp" and be amazed that a local Ameri-Chinese place is doing some of the best bar wings in the North West side!
