This is it... 2 weeks left of a 7 year stint in Chicago. I've had a great time, but still haven't seen everything yet! So, my question is; where should I go for my last horrahs?

    Restrictions:

I don't really have a budget for more than 1 fancy place (fancy meaning more than $20 for a meal  haha), and certainly not Alinea unfortunately. I'm moving to Korea, so am not worried about getting my fill of that, and I work in Chinatown so have done LTH & lao szechuan ect a million times. Oh! and lastly, I can't really get to the burbs or far reaches of the city since I only have a bike.

So, other than those issues, where do you fine folks recommend I go? Or even get delivery from.

I'm guessing there won't be much Polish food in Korea, and GNR Podhalanka is just off the Blue line at Division. And it's cheap.

    Korea, huh?

If you like pizza, you better start loading up.

Funny you should mention this... I'm planning on leaving town after two stints totaling about 6 years. I just started making a list for when Roz (otherwise known as "Mom" to me) comes out again.

My last e-mail to her verbatim

    "The List

Good, proper, Chicago Pizza... None of that Uno, Due, or Gino's cr@p. MiPi is good delivery but we need to go to Burt's (the best but a drive) or Pequod's (Started by Burt and sold... Not quite as good but close to me).

Wiener and Still Champion - Run by my friend, Gus. The epitome of a Chicago hot dog stand. As innovative as Hot Doug's in different ways. Hand dipped corn dogs (like nothing you have had before... light flaky breading with homemade dipping sauce). Deep fried Bacon and Gyros meat. Flat Iron steak sandwich with Chimichuri. Fries cooked in beef talo (the only fries I crave... you know me). All the way up in Evanston and a hole-in-the-wall but you need to try it, You won't find anything like it anywhere else."

I'm not sure what's great in Korea other than Korean food. But, here's what I'd be likely to eat (especially if cost were a consideration):

    > Pizza, at least a few times, and at least once at Burt's.
    > Italian beef. Al's on Taylor if I didn't have much time, and Johnnie's if I had more time.
    > Middle Eastern - Salam for shawarma and hummos. Super-reasonable and super-good.
    > Manny's for pastrami.
    > Some great American breakfasts, yuppy and diner-type.
    > Tons of Mexican food. Nuevo Leon for guisado and tacos sabinas. Guanajuato #3 for carne asada burrito. And, Maxwell street for tacos, tamales etc.
    > Bagels from New York Bagel & Bialy with cream cheese and really good smoked salmon (from Whole Foods, for ex).

I would be doing GNR for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Every one I have been to has been golden.
