Hey Everyone -- I'm out to IKEA tonight on a mission with a friend and when we're done, we're going to be looking for dinner. Now -- I know all the chain options in Schaumburg, etc...but I was wondering if there any little gems that I might not know about for dinner. I'm also open to places that might occur on our route back to the City -- which in my case would be the north side, Andersonville. Tre Kronor comes to mind because I've never been there -- but I'd love to hear any great suggestions. I'm open as to kind of food -- and price -- well...price shouldn't be $$$$.

    Thanks for your help!

While it's not really just about dining, after a trip to IKEA we always hit Mitsuwa Marketplace and its food court. There are also a couple of threads on Schaumburg here and here. Kampai floating sushi/teppanyaki is not terribly far, either - we enjoyed the floating sushi quite a bit (the teppanyaki didn't strike me as being different from any other.)

My map has some LTH pushpins in the area for Flamingo's (Mexican mariscos), Manpasand (Indian carry-out, or do you say take-away?), Asian Bistro, and the sometimes-praised, sometimes-maligned Pappadeaux (seafood). The first is at the corner of Algonquin and Busse; the latter three are on Golf east of 53. And if you want to go a little bit north to Arlington Heights, there's La Tasca (tapas), Peggy Kinane's (Irish pub), and Fuego (Mexican).

Correction -- Flamingo's is at Busse and Dempster, just east of Algonquin.

For clarification, running west to east, Pappadeux is at Golf and Algonquin (SE corner); Asian Bistro at Golf and Arlington (SW corner), I'd add Kitikata for ramen at the same intersection (NE corner); and Manpasand two stoplights east at Goebbert (NE corner).
