I am attending a show here tomorrow night, and I have no idea where to eat before the show, as I don't know this neighborhood at all. Any suggestions? French would be ideal or continental, a place that we can go in nice jeans.

Yea, I was hoping for some recent picks, and I was going to exclude Asian, but if I have to I have to. The hubs hates sushi and Thai. Mixed reviews on Wilde, nothing too promising it looks like. Maybe just have dinner in my hood and just cab over after that, but thought I'd see if there was anything new and interesting to try out a new to me neighborhood.

I was looking for those threads and gave up. Thanks for posting them. As I wrote in the second one,

Check out the menu. I'd describe Erwin as American bistro style. I've always thought the food was prepared well. The burger is one of the best I've had.

    La Creperie?

Assuming you were actually able to get tickets for Bob & David, the obvious plan of action is to 1) dump your husband; 2) take me instead; 3) we'll eat at TAC (you can pay). PM me for contact info.

Cilantro, that's a plan, but now I'm thinking I have the wrong theatre....Jim Jefferies 10:30. I must start googling since the tickets are at home.

I got the right theatre. Made reso at Erwin. I'll post any interesting details. Thanks for the help.

Lots of restaurants along Broadway, both sides of Belmont. My 'go to' in that part of the 'hood' is The Bagel, about 1 block south of the theater. You've really got lots of choice possibilities. For something a step up I'll suggest Yoshi's on Halsted St., 1 block N. of Belmont . . . a 15/20 minute walk to/from the theater.

Stella's Diner. And it's a diner, not a greasy spoon. Very nice menu in a neat setting; a short walk from Lakeshore Theater.
Here's a link to the Google maps page...

While The Bagel isn't a bad rec, IMHO, it's a bit overpriced for what you're getting. That being said, my opinion hasn't stopped me from returning there on occasion.
I hate kettle cooked chips. It takes too much effort to crunch through them.
