I am already familiar with D&J Bistro and Le Titi Paris. I would like to hear some other suggestions. The food can be seafood, French, Mexican, etc.
For seafood, there are two very classy seafood restaurants in the western suburbs that I like a lot.
Parkers Ocean Grill, in Downers Grove, has been around a long time.
Reel Club, in Oak Brook Center, opened this year and is also excellent. I have not yet been to the Naperville location of
Catch 35 but the downtown location is very good.
For French, since you like D&J Bistro, you'd probably also like
Retro Bistro in Mount Prospect; it was founded by the same folks, Dominique Legeai and Masato Suzuki.
For Mexican, I like
Fuego in Arlington Heights; they have very good moles (their regular one and their rotating mole of the week). I also like
Flamingo's, which specializes in seafood and where the food is better and more creative then Fuego, but I would describe the atmosphere as less romantic.
