Trying to gauge interest, find an agreeable date, and good stops for a crawl of some of the Fried Chicken spots in La Salle County(considered by some to be a hotbed for fried chicken & pork tenderloins in Northern Illinois)

Once the 4th of July weekend passes I am pretty much avaialable the rest of the summer, and would prefer to do this crawl on a Saturday, that way we could hit the most spots. Folks could meet at my house, & we could carpool, or folks could meet at the first stop or along the way.

The places I would recommend for visits are:

    -Rip's - Ladd
-Lenutis - Ladd * if open
-Cherry Supper Club - Cherry * town next to Ladd
-Smitty's - Leonore * AYCE Broaster chicken on Saturday nights

    Time permitting:
    -Caretto's Bar & Bowling - Ottawa
    -Hank's Farm - Ottawa
    -Johnny's Corner Tap - Marseilles

I would think a start at Rip's around opening time (4:30 p.m) would be a good start, and avoid the long lines later. Move on to Lenutis(if open), Cherry Supper CLub, Smitty's, etc.

If anyone has a spot they think would be a good addition to my list chime in.

From the LTH calander, Saturday's in July & August look pretty open of events.

    Who is up for it?

Depending on the date, I'd definitely be up for this. I never make it out that way and have been salivating over the posts of these places, it would be a great excuse for me to finally try them out!

I was thinking July 18th would be a good date that is just around the corner, and far enough away from the 4th weekend.

Sounds tempting, but I can't make it on the 18th. I'll wait for pictures to see what you guys got! LaSalle County is a bit far for me, but not too far that I won't go.

    Jim,

A friend of mine in Granville swears that Johnny's North Star in LaSalle has the best fried chicken in the valley. Have you tried it?
