We went to Tenuta's in Kenosha on Saturday and they were no longer selling Point Beer in cans-bottles only. Anyone know of a place near the Wisc Border that sells the cans? We worry that it is a small brewery (Stevens Point) and that it may be cutting back. OMG-had a Sprechter gingerale-the best we have ever had.

I wouldn't bet the ranch on this, but I thought that I saw Point cans at Woodman's in Kenosha.

Just got back from Wisconsin, and while I can't recommend any specific place near the border, Point Special in cans is widely available; no signs of "cutting back." Note, though, that the specialty beers (Pale Ale, Amber, White, et al) are only available in bottles.

Can you only find the gingerale there? More details. Is it sweet? Spicy?

    I love gingerale & rootbeer.

Sprecher sodas can be found at Jewel and Whole Foods (as well as a other places) in Chicago. No need to travel for it.

While looking at replacement garage doors this week, I saw Sprecher's Ginger Ale at Menard's of all places!

Specifically, the Menard's at North and First Avenues in Melrose Park...

Most Menards that I've been to over the last 18 months are carrying Sprecher. I was in the Hillside store this week and they had the Root Beer, Cream Soda, Orange Dream and Cherry Cola for sure. Can't remember right now if they had the Ginger Ale. Originally they only carried the Root Beer, so their stock is expanding.

Dave, a couple of times I asked the manager at Strak and Van Til if they could stock certain items.... both times they came through and within 1-3 weeks the items requested were available... its worth a try. I think the manager's name is Mike G.

Elfin - Woodman's in Janesville at I-90 has Point in cold cases of cans. I brought two cases home recently. They also had cold cases of returnable bottles, plus 12-packs of disposables.

I picked some Gingerale and Root Beer up at the Bolingbrook Menards. The store had a pretty good selection of Sprecher sodas and they're on sale for $3 a 4-pack until September 7.
