Moo & Oink Signature Summertime Sandwich

LTH, I made it to M&O earlier today for BBQ supplies b/c I know what it holds as the 4th nears. They were just setting up the tents outside for the 4th of July grilling season rush and it was starting to get crazy in there. Today they had some pretty good deals on BBQ sauce, drinks, baby backs. The signature beef hot link packages were on sale for $6.99. Ever since my buddy concocted these hot link sandwiches aka McJeff's one summer night-they have been a signature item at the annual 4th party. You can use both beef or pork but I really prefer the beef. This is one All-American sandwich.

I like the sauce, its thicker than most and sweet but not quite as sweet as the honey sauce they also carry. All in all that 72 oz bottle is a steal on sale for $4.99 and its nice to have a few laying around over summer.

And while you are at Moo and Oink, buy some beef bacon. It is excellent.

So the store(s) is long gone but the Moo & Oink name remains. Bought by Best Chicago Meat Co who plans to continue offering some of the stores more popular M&O products. I read somewhere that stuff was starting to hit the shelves of other stores. Has anyone seen the bbq sauce and hot links on sale anywhere? Both the pork and beef, which for whatever reason works better. I'd like to make sure I have some for the 4th of July this year. This simple yet succulent Chicago summertime sandwich is a staple in my friends backyard bbq and grilling sessions so I need to make sure they're there this year. Thanks for the help.

The sauce, I have never checked for. The links - beef, pork, and my favorite - the turkey - are all guaranteed finds at the Ultra Foods in Forest Park on Roosevelt Road. I'm actually planning a trip there today. I can check for the sauce. Seems that'd be a place to find it.

Also seen the links regulary at Tony's in North Riverside, but I'm not sure they carry the full line. Ultra has all of them. Mild versions as well.

Where To Buy

I found all six types of Moo & Oink's links at Garden Fresh in Mundelein. Beef, Pork & Turkey in both mild and hot. I looked all over for the sauce and didn't see it though.

I went to the Chicago's Best website and ordered two 4-packs of the Moo & Oink high 5 BBQ sauce, but then when I went to checkout the only shipping option was 2nd day air for about 28 dollars. Goodbye. Anybody know where to get the BBQ sauce in Chicagoland?

That's the problem. I went to Garden Fresh because of the web site, but they didn't have the Sauce. I'm hoping that someday I'll find it.
