We went strawberry picking over the weekend, and now are going crazy to use them all up before they spoil.

We used to get pre-made crepes at Jewel. They were in the produce section, and packaged much like tortilla shells, in a large flat ziplock back. I've tried several Jewels in the area (Dundee/Algonquin), along with Woodmans and Caputos and had no luck finding these any more.

Can any one point me to a store in the above area that still has them?

Honestly, making crepes is about as easy as making toast. It's silly to waste great strawberries on a plastic prefab product.

I've seen them for sale at the Brookhaven Market in Burr Ridge - over in the Dairy/Prepared foods area.

They're also at the Jewel on Howard east of McCormick in Skokie (or is it Evanston by then?).

I don't recommend using them for anything other than dessert, as they are pretty sweet.

I didn't even know such a thing existed. Now that I know about them, I saw them in the produce section at Meijer. They did not look appetizing.

I really like this recipe from Chocolate & Zucchini.
