    Hrmm...I think you are taking this too seriously.

    They were the star because no one had tried them before, were surprised that they were on the menu, and were excited to try them.

    In Iceland, I was served rams testicles. I actually don't like liver or kidney, and this was in that same school of flavors. As a result, I was not delighted by them. However, those with whom I ate who loved all innards were pleased with them. I got through mine solely by virtue of the rams horn full of Icelandic schnapps served with them. (I actually had no problem with the concept, just the taste. Brains is where I have a concept issue -- they taste fine, but I've seen too many documentaries about Kuru.)
