    LTH,

Was browsing La Unica last week and saw, what I think is a Peruvian marinade. The main ingredient is corn jora cider, which may be hard cider, though the bottle contains less than 1% alcohol. I'm fairly sure the chicha de jora is a marinade, but it could also be base for a drink.

I had met m'th'su at La Unica for a coffee, prior to going to B and M Bakery for lunch, and even though m'th'su speaks Spanish and English was also spoken consensus among La Unica employees was "not sure" One fellow offered among Peruvians chicha de jora sells very well and he would ask about use, but I thought I'd toss the question out for a possible LTH answer.

By the way, B M Bakery makes fantastic, as previously discussed, Bosnian style pita and really wonderful cevapcici. I'll post about B M with pictures.

Chicha, I remember that name from my travels in a previous life. Definatly not a marinade, Chicha is a low alcohol beer made from corn consumed in Central and South America. More here.

I have a young lady in my office who is from Peru. According to her Chicha is a tea like brew made from purple corn. She says that it's very sweet. The product pictured is a low alcohol cider made from Chicha.
