Looks like they learned from the free grilled chicken fiasco and did away with having people print out coupons.

After my dental appt this morning, I stopped by one that was close by so I didn't go out of my way. They said they didn't have the fish taco because they were multibrand store.

I don't think you could pay me to eat a fish taco from LJS. The last and only time I was there I couldn't even make it in the door due to the smell of stale grease.

Me, I'll take JJ Fish or Sharks any day over that stuff.

Really? I always thought LJS was one of the better fast-food establishments. I haven't been to one in years, so maybe it's changed, but for fish and chips, I always thought it was great, as long as you eat the fish hot out of the fryer.

My buddy is buying me one this weekend cause he wants to see me eat it. Of course, I obliged. He thinks it'll be disgusting. I want to find out how terrible-y good it is.

I had one of these today and didn't think it was too bad. Fried fish in a tortilla with a mildly spicy sauce and some finely chopped lettuce. I'd even order one again. Actual price is only 99 cents.

You gotta giggle at(with) the reactionary anti-chain-ists. As it so happens, I ended up at a Long Dong Silver's/A&W while overnighting in southern Illinois last week. It wasn't my first choice(first is a local Chinese restaurant that turns out closes on Tuesdays). First runner-up was the LDS down the street. Frosty mug of root beer, crispy fish, savory hush puppies, divers dipping sauces and malt vinegar, of course...yeah...it's greasy, as if any number of hole-in-the-wall, mom n pop, secret menu joints aren't? Moody's Pub...I'm looking at you. Greasy and good. Back to the topic at hand...they had the fish tacos...as described above; minimal fuss...straight forward and 99 cents. It's not Baja...it's southern Illinois.
