We're celebrating our anniversary and are traveling to IN for spelunking. He's planning the spelunking part, and I'm in charge of finding a place for dinner. We eat almost anything as long as it's delicious and would prefer to spend no more than $100 for the two of us including two glasses of wine. Thanks for your help!

    Spiffy-

A quick use of the search function came up with several threads on Indianapolis dining.

R Bistro. You'll push close to that $100 mark, but assuming it's not a firm line in the ground you could eat extremely well there for about $100.
is making all his reservations under the name Steve Plotnicki from now on.

    ^^This is a fantastic recommendation.

If you can travel to the northeastside a little bit, you may consider Italian at Capri Ristorante. Terrific romantic atmosphere, delightful food, eye-popping wine list, and the owner prowling the floor every night they're open. This can be done for under $100 with a couple glasses of wine fairly easily.

Probably one of the most "romantic"
places in town is a fairly new place
called Taste of Tango, on Washington
Street downtown. It's kind of a long
narrow room, dimly lit and decorated
in reds and dark woods. The food is
Argentinian, mostly meats and a few
pastas. Another place that is small
and intimate is Saffron Cafe - a new
Moroccan place just a little north of
the heart of downtown. R-Bistro is
a good bet. Our go-to special place
is usually Oakley's Bistro (chef from
    our old absolute favorite Something
    Different).

A slight nod towards Taste of Tango: dined there right after it opened...nice space, vast, tall foyer...the room narrowing towards the back. The exceptionally-convivial owner spoke with our party at length extolling Argentinian cuisine. The food, a solid okay: great sweetbreads appetizer, my bland-as-can-be spinach canneloni entree, and a taste of the steaks on the table including a surprisingly-flavorful breaded cut. This was one of those evenings where the company kept outdid the competently prepared food.
Being gauche rocks, stun the bourgeoisie
